Stripe
Connecting your Stripe account to Kick allows for a more detailed record keeping of income data in Kick. Details like customer information and product information will be automatically recorded.
This level of detail not only allows for accurate and automatic recognition of income and merchant fees, it also provides a more granular perspective on your revenue.
For example, you can set up a Rule to automatically categorize a particular Product in Stripe to an income sub-category giving insights into your revenue across multiple offerings without the need for manually tracking.
Connecting Stripe
Connect all of your Stripe accounts using our direct integration (Yes! You can connect multiple Stripe accounts.) You’ll add your Stripe account the same way you’ll connect any new account.
How to Categorizes Income + Record Transfers
You can think of your Stripe account as just another financial account, similar to your checking accounts.
Payments received into Stripe from customers should be categorized as Income.
When funds are transferred from Stripe to your checking, both sides of the Transfer should be categorized as Transfer.
If the deposit into checking was categorized as Income, your income would be double counted between Stripe and your checking account.
PayPal
Connecting your PayPal account to Kick allows for more detailed record keeping of your income and expense data in Kick. Transaction details such as customer information, payment notes, and product-level information will be automatically recorded.
This level of detail not only ensures accurate and automatic recognition of income and PayPal transaction fees, but also gives you a clearer, more granular view of your revenue and payment activity across PayPal.
Connecting Paypal
Connect your Paypal account using our direct integration. You’ll add your Paypal account the same way you’ll connect any new account.
Cash App + Venmo
Adding your Cash App and Venmo accounts in Kick will be just like adding your other accounts.
How to Categorize Income + Record Transfers
When you connect your payment processor in Kick, think of it just as another financial account, similar to your checking accounts.
Payments received into the payment processor from customers should be categorized as Income.
If you are charge any merchant fees, that will be reflected as fees at the time of deposit.
Then, when funds are transferred from your payment processor to your checking, both sides of the Transfer should be categorized as Transfer.
If the deposit into checking was categorized as Income, your income would be double counted between your payment processor and your checking account.
What if my payment processor doesn’t connect to Plaid?
You can import your transaction data from your payment processor into Kick.
Download your transactions either in .csv format or download your bank statements.
Import your transactions data directly into Kick:
Navigate to the Accounts Tab
Visit the “Accounts” tab via the sidebar or visit https://use.kick.co/accounts.
Add Account
Click "Add account" in the upper right corner, and select ‘Import Transactions (.csv, .pdf)’.
Upload your document
Upload .csv file/ PDF statement or browse from documents tab.
Fill account info and select entity
Create new account or use an existing account
Review Transactions
After file is processed, review extracted transactions and make any updates to the dates, descriptions, and amounts.
Import Documents
Click "Import Documents" in the bottom right corner once finished.
